Terms of use

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms govern access to and use of Alto’s website, applications, research tools, simulations, and related services. By using Alto, you agree to these Terms.

What Alto provides

Alto provides software for discovering, researching, organizing, and interacting with systematic strategies built around prediction markets. Certain portions of the service may currently operate in simulation or research mode.

Alto does not operate the underlying prediction markets displayed through the platform.

Real-money activity

Positions and portfolio values displayed in Alto are real. Orders you place are submitted to Polymarket US, a CFTC-regulated exchange, using API credentials you supply for your own account there. Alto does not simulate trading and does not display paper positions.

Your funds remain in your own account at the venue at all times. Alto never holds, custodies, or transfers your money, and cannot withdraw from your account.

Backtested and historical figures shown alongside a strategy are clearly labelled as such. They describe past data, not positions you hold, and are not a projection of what your account will do.

User-directed activity

Users are responsible for deciding whether to use a strategy and how much capital to allocate. Alto does not pool users’ capital into a common investment vehicle.

Where live execution is supported, transactions may depend on accounts, markets, or infrastructure operated by independent third parties.

No investment advice

Information available through Alto, including strategies, historical data, backtests, simulations, research, Vela responses, and other content, is provided for informational purposes. Nothing on Alto should be interpreted as personalized investment, legal, tax, or financial advice.

No guarantee of performance

Historical, simulated, and backtested results do not guarantee future performance. Users may lose some or all of the capital committed to prediction-market activity.

Eligibility and jurisdiction

Features may not be available in every location. Users are responsible for providing accurate information and complying with laws applicable to them.

Alto may restrict access to specific features based on jurisdiction, eligibility, or third-party requirements.

Third-party services

Alto may display information from or connect with independent prediction markets, data providers, and technology providers. Alto does not control those third parties and cannot guarantee their availability, performance, pricing, settlement, liquidity, or operation.

Acceptable use

Users may not misuse Alto, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the operation of the service, manipulate the platform, use automated systems in violation of applicable restrictions, or use Alto for unlawful purposes.

Intellectual property

Alto’s software, branding, design, research presentation, strategy organization, and other proprietary content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, market data, and logos remain the property of their respective owners.

Availability

Alto may modify, suspend, discontinue, or restrict portions of the service as the platform evolves.

Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of Alto after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.

Alto is a self-directed, non-custodial software interface — it never holds your funds. Orders placed here are real, executed in your own account at Polymarket US, a CFTC-regulated exchange; your money stays at the venue. Baskets are impersonal and standardized; nothing here is investment advice or a recommendation. Backtested figures are historical and are not a promise of future results. Availability is geo-routed by jurisdiction. Prediction-market trading involves substantial risk of loss.
